I haven't heard from you in awhile.  Wondering if everything is o.k.  I was reading an old post about water retention and pee pills and congestive heart failure.

I'm having a holter monitor attached as I have a slow heart beat and what I call 'delays'.

At times it feels like the beat is off.  Many years ago I visited the U.S. and the MAyo Clinic in Duluth Minnesota.  They told me my 'spark plugs are not set up right'  However I managed to live to 90 and can still look after myself.  I just had a meeting with a young female doctor who is a geriatric specialist and she was trying to explain to me what old age is all about.  Isn't that funny?

Still around. I did take off to the US for a couple of weeks.

Just been lazy lately. I have a medically induced stress test set up for August 2 & 3, two hours each day.

This is what the doctor order, after I told her I was huffing and puffing after a short walk. Just can't walk like I use to. I use to walk the perimeter of the local park twice a day. I'm guessing it would be 4 to 5 miles round trip.

That picture I post about the bridge, my friend lives in Sault Ste. Marie

Thanks for that.  I couldnt recognize any bridge like that in Thunder Bay.

Good luck with your stress test.  I have a Holter Monitor test coming up.
My heart is not one of the rythm pals. :P

I had one of those tests a few years back. I set it out walking upgrade on a small hill. started beeping like crazy.

I guess with all the testing we go through, it is close to the end for us. If they find clogged arteries in me, that means open heart surgery and possibly the end. My kid brother died on the table with open heart surgery.

All we can do is hope for the best outcome.  Never give up is my motto. I never imagined I would live to 90 years of age and all I think of is what I witnessed and what my grandson will witness.  One of my first memories is walking out of my house naked and everyone laughing at me.

This I'd love to have seen.

Do you plant any kind of a garden.  I have a friend close by that I can plant herbs like rosemary.  The dry stuff doesn't have the same pungency.  Rosemary roasted potatoes is now my favorite way to prepare potatoes.

One year the guy next door, him and I shared a piece of ground, did green beans, tomato's, green onions,. But living in a trailer park, you don't have the space for a good size garden.. But living in the county we have amply sources for fresh fruits and veggies.

There's a farmer's market on today starting at 8 am to 1 pm.  I will visit to get some herb plants to use in my cooking. There's a large pot in my parking spot which gets the sun.

We have a huge farmers market in Windsor, also two out in the county. But we also have numerous fruit and veggie stands all over the place. Where I live is all farm country.

Get some very good deals on fresh produce, breads, some other items.

Last year I bought a quart jar of home made pickled beets, $20.00, wife complained, but she sure ate them. Its good for us folks to find these places. One thing about the markets around me is it is all local produce.

camper6

Didn't make it to the market.  The bus was rerouted because the snowbirds were in town for a demonstration.  I'll try again next week . I'm look for herb plants like rosemary and thyme.  I might try growing them from seed if not succesful in finding the plants.  Local produce sells out quickly here.  Farms are mainly corn for cattle and potato farms.

Our farms are tomatoes, sweet corn, feed corn. soy beans, we also have a huge amount of greenhouses..

During the tomato season, when I was much younger, I always picked tomatoes, made a lot of good money for the season.

I notice now a lot of greenhouse produce for sale from Canadian greenhouses.  Strawberries have been appearing and they are good.

Look at the labels, probably coming from Leamington or Kingsville, this is where all the hot houses are.

camper6

Leamington for Tomatoes for sure.  Wasn't there a plant for canning tomatoes?  Heinz?  Now the tomatoes are exported around the world.  Hard to believe Canada is a leading exporter of tomatoes. I appreciate the strawberries because the ones we get from California are picked early for export.  Strawberries don't ripen after they are picked and they are still white inside.  Not as tasty as fully ripened ones.  We have a farm here where you can go and pick your own or buy a basket.
