Quite interesting. Has all sorts if images from the start to now, and more interesting facts. Worth a look or two. You might enjoy viewing.

Years and years ago I watched them build the Straights of Mackinac Bridge.  I took the ferry.  Years later I crossed on it going to Chicago.  My wife was terrified looking down on the ships that looked like toys.  They didn't have paving.  It was open grill work.  I think that has been paved over now.
As for the Gordie Howe bridge it's being built by a private contractor I think because the U.S. was supposed to join Canada in building a bridge and backed out.
It looks like a fantastic engineering project.

I have been following it on the site. I wish I could go onto the construction site to really see it.

We the Canadians are picking up the tab for this, including the American side. Just hope I live long enough to maybe get the chance to cross it.

At the straits of Mackinac they had coin operated telescopes to watch the construction.  They were pretty good.

The Gordie Howe bridge is money well spent.
