Facing death while living on the street, alone and with no end-of-life care, is unimaginable for most people but an unfortunate reality for too many.

Seeing the need for a designated place for people experiencing homelessness to go for care in dying, Saint Elizabeth Foundation has established a satellite hospice service at the Assisted Living Southwestern Ontario facility in West Windsor.

How as we if we are Christians stand by and just do nothing.

Today I'm going to lay off reading the news.  It's depressing me.

I use to call myself a Christian, did bible study, sang in the choir, attended church twice on sunday's. I watched the people around me, snub others, so I called it quits after many years.

As for the news, I quit watching TV news, opening news qas always about killings, nothing but crap news throughout the entire program. Every so often I will watch CTV Windsor news, it tends to be local and mellow.

It is hard enough to be in hospice with your loved ones there. I cannot imagine anything more lonely than dying alone.

Just someone to listen or pat their hand will give these poor souls a more peaceful journey. A big thumbs up to whoever was compassionate enough to start this program.

Well stated. I haven't heard anymore about this program.

My stepson's wife in a Hospice Nurse in Texas, she says she loves taking care of people. She claims to do more for those dieing than some other nurses do.
