CARP is collaborating with the National Pensioners Federation and Canadian Federation of Pensioners, calling for MP's to create a solution to safeguard defined benefit pensions for retirees.

What do you think?

Great idea.  I never thought of it before.  A lot of us get into pensions and have no real idea about them while paying into them. My company was sold.  The buyout for the pension I contributed to was peanuts. That was after paying in to it for 20 years.

I paid into one where I worked for roughly 20 years, forgot all about it for probably 40 years, then when I applied for pensions at the age of 55 and got them, all of a sudden 10 years later at 65 I started getting the other pension 77 dollars a month. Have you noticed the pensions have increased, mine by almost 3 hundred.

I have no real outside pensions coming now that I'm close to 90. Used them all up.  I get the maximum Canada Pension and the supplement plus the odd dividends.

I give myself a treat every day.
